Welcome Back!

I hope everyone stayed dry and safe after this stormy weather. I was ecstatic to see your children back today and they went right back to the routine of school with ease! Today we read a book called Too Much Glue, and practiced using wet glue. I am sure they will tell you all about the phrase that we learned…dot, dot, not a lot!

Parent Orientation will be rescheduled and I will send the date out as soon as I know. Our computer lab time will be rescheduled for next week, Wednesday the 13th. Please send head phones (labeled with your child’s name) to school for your child to use on the computer this year. It would be helpful to show your child how to use a mouse and a touch pad to navigate a desktop computer or laptop.

Third Day

We had a busy third day of school! Today we read a book called Howard B. Wigglebottom Learns to Listen. We talked about how to be a five star listener at school and even drew ourselves being one in our learning journals. We also read the book Chester Raccoon and the Big Bad Bully to talk about how we treat friends in school. As a class we sorted good/poor choices, but we plan on making good choices! We also went to PE and music. We will go to PE daily, so please be sure your child has the appropriate shoes.

We will begin going to the computer lab soon. We will be learning how to login to the computers. Please send head phones (labeled with your child's name) to school for your child to use on the computers this year. It would be helpful to show your child how to use a mouse and a touch pad to navigate a desktop computer and a laptop.

If you would like to help me in the computer lab next Wednesday at 9:30 please email me.

Second Day!

Our second day of kindergarten was amazing! We toured the school and learned the procedures in each place. We also learned about 2 more school tools scissors and glue sticks that we added to our school tool boxes!

Please make sure students wear their wristband every day to school this week. We are using them at dismissal time. Any notes regarding transportation changes should be placed in your child’s yellow daily folder. Thank you in advance for helping us ensure your child goes home the correct way each day!

We will begin computer lab Wednesday August 30th. We will be learning how to login to the computers. Please send head phones to school for your child to use on the computer this year.

If you would like to help me in the computer lab next Wednesday at 9:30 please email me.

First Day!

We had a great first day of Kindergarten!  We enjoyed reading Pete the Cat, Rocking in My School Shoes and going on a school tour. We learned about a few of our "school tools" and used our brand new pencil and crayons to draw a self portrait.  We read The Kissing Hand and made one for you. We learned how to play safe outside. We went to music and PE. Today was a very busy day of learning lots of new rules and procedures... your students are probably very tired!!
Please send a snack and water bottle daily. We will send home the water bottles each afternoon to be cleaned and refilled.
Your child's yellow daily folder went home in their backpack. There are several papers in the pocket to take out. Please send the yellow folder back to school DAILY and remember to send any notes or transportation changes inside the front pocket.

WOW! What a fantastic year it has been! It has been amazing to see how much each student has grown since the beginning of school. Also, thank you for all the end of year goodies. Have a GREAT summer!

If you ordered a yearbook for your child, they will be sent home today. If you were unable to purchase one and you would like one, there are a limited number available in the office for $40. I would love your input as to what you value the most and feel is the most essential part of a comprehensive counseling program. If you could respond to the survey below, that would be wonderful in helping me tailor the program to meet the needs of our students here at CFES!

Coach Baxter & Coach V

Dear Students and Parents,

I want to express to you how grateful I am for all of the thoughtful letters and gifts that I have received this week. Honestly you and your children make it feel like teacher appreciation week all year long by all of the generosity and kindness that you have shown towards me. As this is my first year at Creekside you have really helped make it a wonderful place to work at, so for that I sincerely thank you. It’s hard to believe that it is already almost the end of the year, where has the time gone?! Just know that I am enjoying every last minute left with your child. :)

Warm Regards,

Ms. Kranson

Students in grades 3, 4, and 5, will have an opportunity to show all that they’ve learned this year as they take a variety of STAAR tests.

May 9th, 2017: 3rd, 4th, Reading STAAR, 5th retest
