Hello Parents,
My name is Carrie Thorne, and I am delighted to serve as your child's second grade teacher this year! This marks my 25th year of teaching and my third year here at Creekside Forest. I love teaching second grade at this wonderful school, and I feel blessed to be here! My classroom is a place where students feel safe, loved, and challenged. My goal is to help students grow both inside and outside the classroom by inspiring them to achieve their goals, to become life-long learners, and to be the best that they can be. I look forward to meeting all of my students and working in partnership with parents to make this second grade year the best yet!

GT Testing Information

Please see the following message from Mrs. Lummus regaring GT testing.

Hello Parents,

This year we have made some changes to the GT testing that we use in Tomball ISD.  We are now testing in NonVerbal, Verbal, and Quantitative areas.  If your student has returned their permission to test, I have added your student to a Schoology group where I have put some "Study Guides" for this Ability portion of the test.  Please have your students log on to the Schoology class and practice a few questions so they know what to expect.  CoGAT is a IQ type of test, so it is often strange or difficult for students to process the directions of the test.  This is often the reason they miss the questions rather than ability, however, these study guides are OPTIONAL.   This is a test to see how your brain works and to test its capabilities.  I plan to start testing this Friday.

Thank You,

Cecelia Lummus

Happy Spring Break

Dear Families,

Spring break is here! Here is a note from Mrs. Scott, our room mom:

Hi parents!

Camp Creekfest will be here before we know it! This is the biggest fundraiser each year for our school and we need your help! Each class is participating in the Silent Auction portion of the event by creating our very own basket. Mrs. Thorne's class theme is AMERICAN GIRL. My Generation and other comparable brands are acceptable as well, so don't stress if you can't find anything American Girl to purchase!

We would love for you to participate by visiting the link below where you will find an itemized list via SignUpGenius - click on “View Full Description” to see details and instructions. Once you purchase your item for the basket, please drop it off at my house or bring it to me at biker/walker pickup anytime before 3/17. My address is 43 E Arbor Camp Circle.

Again, all items are due to me no later than March 17th so that I have time to put together the basket before it is due.
