Happy January!

Today a RED homework folder will come home. Please read the letter on the first page in the folder.  This letter explains how to complete writing homework with your child.  Today in class we did the first writing page together for you to see as an example. (I told students they can work on their ONE writing page a little each night if that works best. Maybe the first night they can write their sentences.  The second night they can add to their writing, draw their picture to match, color their picture, etc) Please complete ONE writing page a week.   Your child needs to return their red folder every Friday. Your child will read their writing to me, and then they will put their red folder back in their backpack each Friday.
Directions:
*Read the parent letter on first page
*Complete 1 writing page a week (NOT each night)
*Please remember to let your child sound out the words they want to write and write the letters for the sounds they hear in their words.  Students should be writing at least 2 sentences using appropriate capital / lower case letters, spaces, and punctuation.
